TIPS:
You may bring:
Your
own dog food we just ask that it be in a hard container. Bags can rip and spill. Write name & directions for feeding on
container. A blanket that smells
like home as long as it is washable. Sometimes dogs spill their water or food & bedding needs to be washed.
A special toy that your dog enjoys,
we do have plenty but some dogs enjoy having their favorite toys with them.
ARRIVAL DAY :
PLEASE allow enough time to check in. Our pets, especially
dogs are very sensitive to our moods and feelings. If you arrive rushed or worried about leaving, your dog will arrive at
Ramson agitated and concerned. “Emotional farewells” are also very difficult for dogs and make them feel upset
and worried.
DO NOT FEED YOUR DOG OR GIVE MORE THAN SMALL QUANTITIES OF WATER FOR AT LEAST 2 HOURS PRIOR TO
ARRIVAL TIME. We cannot over-state how important this is. Visiting with us is an exciting experience for dogs, and they may
get digestive upsets.
PICK-UP DAY :
Try not to be overly excited when you pick
up your dog. He's/She's already excited about seeing you and if you remain calm, he'll/ she'll feel more secure about leaving
you in the future.
DO NOT FEED YOUR DOG OR GIVE MORE THAN VERY SMALL QUANTITIES OF WATER FOR AT LEAST 2 HOURS
AFTER PICK-UP. Your dog will be very excited and happy to see you. He/She may gulp their food or water, and this can cause
digestive upsets.
Don’t be surprised if your dog sleeps a lot the first day or two back at home. The home
environment is very quiet and calm after the excitement of visiting with us, and this sleepiness is quite common and normal.
